Hmaly: The important piece of info. is the likely performance of the i845 ddr when it comes out 2 wks before Xmas.

Haven't there been rumors suggesting that Intel would support async memory bus speeds? (specifically DDR266, which doesn't match the 4x100MHz P4 bus as well as DDR200).

My understanding [of the rumors] was that it would require a new version of the i845 North Bridge. Who's to say what improvements this chip will have? Some increased buffer-sizes and maybe even some DASP-like prefetching could result in significantly improved performance.
