1) Sorry, Albert. Go into any retail store, and you'll see the Windows XP logo and Pentium 4 logo advertised side-by-side. Microsoft and Intel do have a strong relationship, and your Wall Street Journal example does not dismiss that.
2) Sorry again. The ad said nothing that would convince anyone of a close relationship between AMD and Microsoft. This is the same line that they give all the companies whose products they validate. And trust me: the list is lengthy.
3) Sorry a third time, Albert. You are completely wrong, and FUD/BS is just spilling from the sides of your mouth. Get a clue.
Regards
-BMW

Albert,

I saw the WSJ ad, it was pretty well done. But I wouldn't read more into it than marketing spin. Of course Microsoft worked with AMD on XP, you wouldn't want XX% of your market to be incompatible.

My only question would be, why spend the $'s on the WSJ? You could get a lot more consumer bang for the buck other places. WSJ is used to target corporate IT guys. AMD would be better off with half the ad space in USA Today and local papers.

Also funny how in VERY small print at the bottom of the ad they gave the actual GHz for the 1800+. They must be a little uncomfortable with the model hurtz scheme, otherwise why the GHz reference. Protecting their rear from lawsuits?
