Years ago in Freeport TX ,
I saw a rail car of propylene oxide explode
Out at Dow Chemical.
I was over 8 miles away and it broke the plate
windows of the building I was standing by..
and the cloud that went up was just like the
mushroom cloud of a nuke. ( not as high but
same shape and all )
-------------------------
It was caused by a reaction inside the tank car
They had some warning, & pushed it off on a side
track and away from other cars and were trying to cool
it down, ( they never even found any of the body parts
of those at the scene )
-------------------
Watch out for any Chemicals that end with oxide,
they can make their own oxygen. <g>
