Everything I know about Afghan cuisine I learned at Afghani restaurants right here in NoVa. They like nan, but also lamb, beef, chicken, rice, lentils, spinach, and pumpkins. Not all that different from Northern Iran or Turkey.

I agree that the meal drops are just drops in the bucket. My hope is that they have a psy-ops plan that they aren't telling us, because if they are serious that the meal drops are adequate in any way, that's scary.

While not as cute as providing a recipe for nan, it might have been more informative had you told us, say, how many nan can be made from the 75K tons of wheat donated by the US to Afghanistan's hungry earlier this year.

Or, more current, how many nan might have gone to feed Afghani families had not Taliban militia cleaned out UN warehouses in Kabul and Kandahar of 5K of wheat yesterday.
