GST, GDP of -.4 vs. consensus of -1.0. What do you think? Could it be a small valley instead of a deep and wide canyon? Probably won't know until we get more Q4 data.

I've always been doubtful about the Japan scenario happening here, but I think that it is very disturbing when the economy continues to weaken in the face of major interest rate cuts. Of course it takes time for rate cuts to have their effect, but I was hoping that the economy would be starting to turn around by Oct. The Q3 GDP is almost certainly much better than Q4 will be. Unemployment will be critical IMO.
