IE starts in about a second on my machine - why would I care if it was twice as fast?

Try it yourself. It explains quite clear, what it does - it has four modes:

1) No fast startup.
2) Preloads engine. Like MSIE which also preloads a lot of it's dll's. This is default.
3) Preloads engine and precreates Window.
4) Preloads engine, precreates Windows and pre-renders start page.

While you use the page you opened, it preloads another Window in the background. Resource usage is minimal on a modern Windows 95 or newer, and memory usage is small compared to how often you use a browser (and how much memory Windows uses already). Fastest mode takes 35MB of my memory, equivalent to $3 PC133 RAM.

On some graphic drivers, 3) and 4) doesn't work, and 4) is a bad idea if you start page is dynamic.

If you like using cool products you should at least try this browser. It has replaced Mozilla on my Windows PC as default browser (my MSIE is in high security mode as recommended by Microsoft and therefore doesn't display many web sites correctly).
