I was a young girl living in upstate NY when I shook his hand and got his autograph..........a moment I shall never forget. He was my hero for many years and still remains near the top of my list. Bobby was a man of tremendous courage and character that is rarely seen anymore. I was in 8th grade when we had that missile crisis with Cuba. We were having air raid drills in my school. I remember being scared and wondering how it would all end. When the US announced that they would board all incoming Soviet ships the broadcast was played over our PA system in the school. We were petrified.

Other leaders considered them second-rate or worse. Cuba and Berlin happened because the Soviets saw the Kennedys in action and were unimpressed. RFK was certainly the most unscrupulous man* ever to serve as AG - they even passed a law to prevent that from ever happening again.
