11:08 ET Sector Watch: Semiconductor : -- Technical -- Buy interest in semiconductors is contributing to general strength on the Nasdaq. Currently trading at 458, the index faces very near-term resistance at its intraday high of 461. That level is followed by additional overhead in the range of 468/470 which brackets its 50-day simple moving average as well as an area of prior congestion. To the downside, look for initial support at an area of congestion around 452. ET Nasdaq Composite : -- Technical -- Index has gapped open to start the session and extended early gains. Total volume is solid and market internals are solidly bullish with advancing volume outpacing declining volume by 7 to 1. To the upside, look for initial resistance at 1720 followed by subsequent overhead at 1731. Watch for downside support in the area of 1702 which has served as a pivot point for the index over the past several weeks. From our friend that is on a weeks vacation. SS
