Blow Boy Dan - Re: "Remember that all Intel representatives have sworn that there was no benefit to Copper on .18."

AND INTEL WAS RIGHT - That's why Intel is producing 2.0 GHz Pentium 4's on a 0.18 micron Aluminum process !!

And poor old AMD - which CAN'T GET BEYOND 1.5 GHz with their Masterful Copper - was FORCED INTO PR RATING their processors in an effort to hide from the public their INABILITY TO COMPETE on technology with Intel !

Blow Hard Dan - Re: "Note that AMD showed micrographs of transistors they'd manufactured with 5 nm gate lengths using a ".13" copper process in a slide show given in 1999. They were reporting on the results of 198nm stepper tests performed at their submicron development FAB. "

No kidding ?

1999 eh?

That makes AMD about 2 1/2 years LATE on that 0.13 micron process - HAH !
