Interesting that the systems are selling out, but the processors are readily available. I guess that means the OEMs capacity to build systems is being exceeded.

If the top tier OEMs continue to shun Athlon then hopefully the smaller manufacturers will ramp their production quickly to meet the demand. Who knows, perhaps the top tiers will get displaced.

And you would think SI would have been able to add Athlon to their spellchecker by now.

Win: In my other periodic spot check, I must note that the elusive 1.2ghz Celeron has put in its first appearance on pricewatch, one (1) listing (not one page, one vendor), at the relatively good price of $115, retail boxed even.

This seems to be fairly typical of Intel launches, however, with reasonable availability from OEMs, but very poor availability in the DYI market. In AMD's case, it's the other way around.
