Actually, it is very unlikely that either were Republican. These were the sort of people that do not see a dimes worth of difference between the two parties. In any event, the reason they are brought up is because of criticism of behavior on the part of Federal Agents, under the direction of the Attorney General in at least one instance. The FBI is criticized for unnecessary escalation and the deaths of those incidental to the stand- offs. There would, of course, be no analogy to the WTC or the anthrax scare........
