I think it depends mostly on the company you keep.

I wouldn't call it "kitschy". There's nothing pretentious about the "bad taste". It's the real deal. <gg>

I have a great photo of my son and me standing in front of the largest bronze sculpture in the world. (The MGM "Lion") Where else can you find that?

If you like a brightly lit boardwalk, Vegas is your place. "Old Vegas" is particularly good for that.

Let's face it...it's a part of "Americana" just as much as Graceland...

No, you wouldn't like Vegas. But you might like the dam, the desert or nearby places like Henderson.
