On one hand, Dick Armey is delaying the vitally important airport security bill because, he alleges, creating a new class of federal workers would result in more money to the Democratic Party. On the other hand, last week he rammed through the House a so-called economic stimulus package that, among other things, would give (major GOP contributor) IBM a $1.4 billion (that's with a "B") tax break. And what about some kind of relief for the tens of thousands of workers laid off in the past couple of months? The GOP game plan is to urinate on these people.

To all: I can see the reason for not wanting the employees to be FEDERALIZED. If that is done, with it comes all kinds of protections, sandbagging and all. Instead of BEEFING up our security it might actually weaken it. Not easy to fire a Federal employee for being slovenly on the job. Dont you all see that? JDN ps: On another note, a warning to all small business men who might be on this thread. Sunday good friends of mine owning a small business needed to URGENTLY send a package to the SEMA show in Las Vegas. They took it too Delta Dash who REFUSED to carry it!! Reason--because they were a NEW CUSTOMER to Delta and they no longer carry anything for any business without first checking out the business with a PERSONAL VISIT etc etc which takes about 2 weeks to be scheduled and done. My friends got it shipped finally but cost $1,800 (should have been couple hundred). So, if you are in business and only occassionally use Delta go down and introduce yourself and get your business approved for shipments.
