You're right. The analysts did not like the cost savings numbers, since even in the most optimistic sense, they are 5% below what Intel had originally forecasted. On the other hand, the analysts loved the rest of the webcast (stock is up more than 5% today - Nasdaq only 1.5%). I was listening to MSNBC this morning, and several analysts ended up recommending INTC based on this news, and many now believe that Intel is going for market share, and is going to bury the competition (well, so to speak <g>). if you are arguing over the affect of Intel's cost announcement on their stock, you are surely going about it the wrong way.
