No. We need more air marshalls and they should be LE personnel which are clearly gov't employees. As to baggage checkers I am of the opinion it also makes sense to convert these to LE type positions as well. Most Repubs. do not favor making all these employees gov't employees. I was trying to suggest a compromise....

The Senate voted 100-0 on Oct. 11 to make all airport screeners federal workers. In my opinion, it doesn't appear that Bush/DeLay/Armey have the votes in the House tomorrow to move in a different direction. Therefore, the only issue to be decided might well be whether these quasi-union screeners will be under Justice or Transportation.
