Don, that may be your song, you want to go on and on about the past, that's your right. Don, Patriotism is not a dirty word at SGI and they take it seriously and they are also taken seriously by those who buy for the DOD. I do believe you are missing what has happened and having never seen real computing power solving big problems you are unable to understand SGI value added.

I was also speaking with another friend today who had been spec-ing in an SGI. But based on the new SGI cost realities and operational requirements he is going to buy two. Until the 300 a couple other vendors were in the competition.

The reports of Lockheed where they saved 70 to 80% in development by using simulation and visualization was done using multi-million dollar machines. This can now be done for a lot less and the new lower costs makes for this new kind of a very creative productivity solution being adopted far more widely.
