Zeev, do you have a target for the SOX for the DEC lows?
Will the SOX contribute the most of this decline as opposed to any other sector play?
If not, what sectors will lead the decline?
Thanks

M

MSDW on KLIC, dated 11/1/2001

Kulicke & Soffa (KLIC-$15-O-V) Chirping Sounds From the Coal Mine S. Pelayo/J. Deahna

Chirping sounds from the coal mine - In the past, we have jokingly referred to KLIC as the "canary in the coal mine" for exhibiting almost perfect timing in signaling cyclical peaks.
The canary lives - numerous signs of life - cyclical bottom may have past for KLIC - We leave forecasts unchanged for now, but expect positive EPS surprise and meaningful upward revision following F4Q01 results to be announced in mid-Nov.
Primary research suggests wire bonder upside could be far greater than the Street expects. Other products recovering too - Checks indicate KLIC is preparing its Singapore factory for a >350 bonder qtrly run-rate. Street consensus is likely half that level.
KLIC is one of the least expensive in the industry, and the stock is headed to $18 near-term, in our view. We raise our 12-month price target to $20. KLIC shares trade at 1.1x trailing sales, one of the least expensive stocks in or universe. With signs of life coming from numerous sources, we raise our target to $20.
