Obviously Western Europeans (like everyone else) were smart enough to wait an extra month to buy Windows XP systems rather than Windows Me. Let's see what the fourth quarter numbers look like.

I think too many people just refuse to make this connection.
In a weak economy, the the headline numbers look even worse.

On the point of an upgrade coupon (mentioned by "JustObserving"). Just wait for the PC to come loaded with XP...one month is no big wait. I could not be bothered with having to install an upgrade one month after buying the PC; I would rather wait as I think most consumers did.
