Then we must have been in a dictatorship for most of our history. After all, we have had machines like Tammany and Pendergast and Daley; disenfranchisement of blacks for nearly a century in the South; elections stolen by Lyndon Johnson (his first Congressional race) and the Kennedys (at least the West Virginia primary, and possibly the general election); and other corruptions of the voting process throughout our history. Most of them, by the way, perpetrated by Democratic politicians. But, of course, you are wrong. The election was not stolen, our form of government remains intact........
