That's a decision that the airlines would have to make as to the procedures. I would think that that might be worse somehow, it means that the person is led off somewhere and and then everyone who sees it is going to be looking at the guy funny the whole plane trip, when he comes back. The thing is, we're all under different conditions now, and so it would seem that it's up to the people (as usual) to try and do things to make everything go as smoothly as they can. The old saying... why look for trouble. You(pl) know what's going on,. so just do things that makes the machinery run smoother, don't do things that create problems.

I don't know if a Sikh HAS to wear a Turbin,I don't know the ins and outs of Sikhdom. :-) But if they don't why wear one to get on a plane, if you're going to object to having it searched??

Hi Lola,

I think that is the core problem.

To Sikhs their turban (as to some other Hindu groups too) is a very scared and honorable thing.

Removing it or ordering the removal of the turban is almost like some ordering the removal of the Christian cross from a padre.

I agree with that every one must be checked. But the person doing this must have some understanding of the reverence that is accorded to this. And ask to do so privately and with respect.

Come on if the security guard wanted to check under the bra of a women would she tell her to open it in public...or even worse would she take it off by force in public. I don't think so and thus one must be understanding of this fact.
