David, Would it not be reasonable to assume that MSFT does not want to talk about the success of the XP until after a settlement? If they had to say something positive, it is better to wait until after a settlement. Might as well use the weak state of the PC industry in the quarter (and year) to its advantage. There is no doubt that the news on the industry has been very negative of late. BTW--I see a big reversal forming in this business. Semiconductor stocks doing well..very important are the memory players.
