I think the typical spread is being short the long bond to 'tweak' your duration and long all the other shit on the planet. LOL

I had taken some of Sir John Templeton's advise to buy some non callable AAA debt. During the last back up in the 30 and 10 year I had bought an initial position. Of course it was not a large portion in my portfolio. <g> I was concerned with this position since the commercials were net short expecting that I would be adding before it was all over. <ggg>

we all underestimated the psychological impact of the treasury move.

the timing was perfect. i am astonished that o'neill could come up with this. rubin knew how the market worked. regardless, volume is unimpressive and shorts got trapped.

the fut's are actively being jammed again.
