>"What type of economic approach did you have in mind? "

A simple one: don't give money away like an idiot.

It's simple, but not easy, because our politicians are all trained like Cocker Spaniels to give money, because it's not their money, and it comes back to them in the form of campaign donations, and they represent themselves and the government, not the citizens.

"Criticize the US, get a cookie" is the current policy

No cash, weapons, drug-fighting support, etc etc, only food, and only to non-belligerents, directly, not to warlords. That'll save 1/2 of the $15 billion we pay enemy nations who murder our citizens.

The other economic approach, called "responsibility and accountability", is to exact reimbursement from those responsible for funding terrorism, in the amount of our economic cost (not including lives lost, which cannot be replaced) of what will turn out to be hundreds of billions of dollars. The deep pockets that have funded our enemies are our enemies also, and should now pay, as a good world precedent for the future.

A big meeting with the Arab world?

I have one question, after 9/11:

What's in it for us?

My main concern for the Arab World is for them to stay on their side of the world and fight, if they must among themselves, and leave us out of it.

I see you are falling for the easy conceit of thinking that we, somehow know what's best for them.

I understand that conceit, but we have to admit, and this is very difficult in Washington:

WE DO NOT HAVE THE ANSWERS TO THEIR PROBLEMS !!!

They can "accomodate" us, and vice versa, by repudiating violence against us so that we don't have to bomb them, and by trading with us, or not.

What else would you suggest?
