<<i bet you were one of those that 3 years ago were saying that yhoo @ pe=1000 was a stealth :-)>>

the funny thing is that it was stealth 3 years ago. we are in a new era now where p/e ratios are back in vogue. Business will be valued on their potential of future earnings and the higher growth companies will credited a higher p/e because of their current superior products.

We are back to the real world and a p/e of 50+ for a no growth company is unrealistic. the pc profits are going to go down. please take Star Office 6, linux, OSX seriously because they are competitors to msft. though they are small now they will, as a whole, chip away at Windows strengths and offer an alternative. Sales will stagnate for the Windows group. they have not proven they be succesfull in any other area but OS. Until they can prove they can execute in other markets, I will take a wait and see attitude. My gut tells me they won't be able to market as well in their new territories.

So, in conclusion, I think MSFT is a risking bet here. In fact, I cannot think of one positive thing to say about a new MSFT product. I do not need one and I try to think like the average consumer. Maybe the product has some hidden magic but I have'nt felt it yet. They are going to lose money on every x-box they sell. MSN will always to be second AOL. AOL locked up a great deal of content. Brilliant. The enterprise products are getting slammed by unix. SAP just announced that they are going with Sun One/iplanet. SAP happens to be the largest enterprise vendor in the world right now. ORCL uses sunw. MSFT is already dead in the enterprise market. Man, I gettin tired of say all this negative so I am going to stop.

Rocky.
