Virage Logic Corp., Fremont Calif., said it has licensed its embedded SRAM to MIPS Technologies.

The MIPS32 4Kc and 4Km hard cores will use Virage Logic's Custom-Touch SRAM embedded memories.

The initial 0.18-micron embedded memory instances used by MIPS are single-port SRAMs in configurations of 16Kb, 32Kb, 64Kb and 128Kb.

In addition, MIPS has joined Virage Logic's Memory Alliance Program to help proliferate the market for embedded memories, the companies said. The program includes foundries, IP suppliers, EDA vendors, design service providers and test vendors.
