Certainly not ABC's "World News Tonight" anchor Peter Jennings, who ended his broadcast Tuesday night applauding the prospect that President Bush might get booed at the World Series game he was scheduled to attend an hour later. "Just one last thing. We are always looking for signs that the country is behaving like its old self again," Jennings began. "Tonight at the World Series, if the Yankee fans boo the president, it won't mean necessarily that they're unhappy with his leadership, but he did say that he would cheer for anyone but the Yankees in the series. So if New York fans give him the business, it just means they're acting like their old selves, and that's probably a good sign." Instead of boos, Bush was met with rousing cheers and chants of "USA! USA!" - especially after he managed a perfect strike from the pitcher's mound to open the game. No word yet on whether Jennings thinks it was "a good sign" that New York Senator Hillary Clinton was booed off the stage a week ago Saturday at Paul McCartney's Twin Towers relief concert. newsmax.com
