Beamer - Re: "Paul, I agree that instabilities on Windows XP really puts AMD at a disadvantage. AMD was counting on aggressively selling up with Windows XP, and already they are starting out on the defensive"

I can't wait for Intel and MICROSOFT to put an ad in the Wall Street Journal - referencing the TGH AthWiper eXPloder INSTABILITY article.

The buying public needs to be INFORMED about the sorry state of AMD-based machines - especially under Windows XP.

After all - this could damage Microsoft's reputation !!!

Re: I agree that instabilities on Windows

Well, we've seen data corruption from PIII 1.13GHZ, Xeon 900MHX and now the Itanium, so maybe you should be a little more worried about $5,000 to $100,000 production systems from Intel quietly corrupting data than Tom managing to lock up his test PC by entering wrong information into the bios.

Wanna, you (or Paul for that matter) have no idea what Tom's difficulties were caused by. Had it been the P4 system that experienced instability, you would have been quick to dismiss any fault on the part of Intel. In fact, Paul has done so on many occasions (both the 1.13GHz recall SNAFU as well as the early P4 problems).
