Sandeep: please avoid spurious accusations of people on this thread being conspiratorial in nature and comparing us to 'mullahs'. It only makes you look foolish. Do you happen to think Gretchen Morgenson of the NYT is conspiracy minded? If not then read this: nytimes.com Many other astute bond watchers shared these same observations today and yesterday. The 30 year, like it or not, has been used as an effective barometer of inflation fears. It is very apparent that the federal govt one way or another has put an end to that.
