Gottfried, thanks for the info. I am a huge fan of the chip equip stocks, in spite of that I haven't owned a single one in months. I'm not sure that there's a new low coming but I sure don't see any reason to get a rosy outlook real soon. In the last cycle the equip stocks dropped a lot lower than they did this time and there was no rocket ride up, in fact there were numerous stairs up.

My questions to you are first, won't the chip sellers have to see some certainty before they start adding and modernizing equipment again and, second, aren't the chip sellers likely to shoot up first and faster? (edit, they are, but I mean on the real rise) Until that happens, aren't these just traders? If xmas is dismal I see bad things ahead. Just wondering out loud. Ed

Looks like the SOX bounced off the 490 level.

What's your take on breaking through to a new short term high or staying in the 430-490 trading range?
