"EDO Corp.'s third-quarter up on strong defense spending
NEW YORK, Oct 31 (Reuters) - EDO Corp (NYSE:EDO - news), a maker of radar and sonar systems for the defense and aerospace industries, said on Wednesday that its third-quarter profits climbed over 80 percent as its defense segment posted strong sales.

EDO reported quarterly earnings of $3.8 million or 30 cents per share compared with $2.1 million or 18 cents per share."

...and, that huge fighter jet contract that Lockheed won - the largest ever - EDO is going to supply the weapons release systems for it. In fact no matter who won, EDO would be doing this- they were involved with Boeing's bid too.

est dollar value of this new deal for EDO is $700k per plane - up to 3000 planes over 25 yrs. EDO systems are already on the F15, F16, F18 - both bomb release units and guided missile release units.
