FrankW,

I see M/Ergy as a mobile wireless replacement for ISDN speeds (especially when the CPE is moving fast such as in a car, train or plane). When used in a fixed wireless context the achievable data rate goes up towards 2 Mbps, making it an alternative to RADSL.

I am less a believer in mobile wireless than most here, especially not in 3G (cost issue and my personal view is that it shares a lot of aspects with many other telecom failuer stories). Like Goldman Sachs (link on this thread recently) I feel that data rate applications for 2.5G will be less costly and probably thrive. I invested in CDV to cover my portfolio in case 3G really took of - for I didn't want to buy QCOM back then. Another wireless related firm that does almost exclusively 2.5G only is Mitec Telecom, also Canadian: MTM.TO which stock I also have. This has been one of the few success stories throughout the last 2 years - growing nicely, engaging in accretive acquisitions and finally increasing profits even in the slump.

Apart from those 2 canadians I sunk more $$$ upwards in the foodchain (comm chips, analog mixed signal designs), picking up FCS and ANAD at what I thought were good entry prices, only to see ANAD being halved by now. Just FCS held up. Well, it's a tough climate for investors now..

best wishes
