Individual investors are usually the last to grasp the fact that the semi cycle has swung 180 degrees (in either direction) and thus they almost always either miss 80% of potential profits on the upside...and/or lose their shirts on the downside. --------------------- <<Do you understand KLIC's fundamentals and long term outlook ?>> I believe so or I wouldn't be invested in the stock. Not a difficult concept. KLIC is indeed becoming the 'AMAT of the backend' as Scott Kulicke suggested early during the company's 5-7 year acquisition phase. FlipChip (FCT) is now 100% owned by KNS and has landed multiple licenses over the past year. The FCT division is leading in this new bumping technology and is clearly in a position to generate substantial revenues (a completely new source) for the company. XLAM is on the cusp of becoming profitable; in the next 2-3 years SK anticipates this division will generate more revenues than bonders. The company's test division (formally CerProbe and Probe Technologies) has integrated nicely into the company's operations and will bring additional revenue. Customers will surely appreciate the convenience of a single, integrated source provider for equipment and testing. Then there's also AFW, Semitec, and, of course, bonders (where KLIC continues to be a dominant player). The bottom line is that KLIC's investments over the past 5-7 years are now paying off making the 'fundamental' long term outlook for the company very strong. --------------------- <<Do you know why ASML bought SVGI and not KLIC ?>> Ask ASML, not Scott. BTW, over the last ~12 months: -KLIC is up over 21%. -ASML is down 54%. Perhaps investors have telegraphed their impression of ASML's (and KLIC's) business acumen. --------------------- [News Flash: ABN Amro upgrades many semi-equipment stocks this morning.]
