That's true, but the way I understand the pretext for dealing with kaddafi was the bombing of a nightclub in germany that U.S. military people frequented. I could be wrong, but I believe, later it came to light that kaddafi had nothing to with the German nighclub bombing. In any case, Reagan did put kaddafi in his place, although for the wrong reasons, it was still nice to see.
