Wanna: This may not be a popular way of thinking, but here it goes:

You'll hear no complaints from me! ;-)

1) It seems that there are known problems with this motherboard.
2) I don't think Tom's Hardware should be using motherboards with known problems.
3) What other motherboards are available to deliver stable performance to an Athlon?
4) Provide the fastest motherboard in the review that offers a known stable solution.
5) If this lowers the performance of the Athlon, so be it, since stability should be valued over performance.
6) If the Athlon fails to outperform a Pentium 4 using a stable platform, then I would consider that a valid result, while the results with an unstable motherboard would be invalid.

Everything in your list is what should be done EVERY time, in EVERY review.

If one really wants to report the (possible) faster scores as well, then by all means do so. But not at the expense of the "real" scores. This is similar to how many sites provide overclocked scores alongside the "real" scores. As long as each are clearly labeled, there should be no problem.

I have no problem with it.
