Jim,

Thank you for the cautious tone. From my perspective, it only makes sense to focus on the potential pitfalls. The benefits are....well...implied.

We saw the inverse for the past few years: stock buyers making purchases based on information about rumored splits, diaphanous productivity numbers and promised synergies that defied the most optimistic math.

Whatever. That's done. I'm really not here to convince anybody. Take what you like and leave the rest, etc. Caution seems like the obvious approach to me.

If you have time, I have a question. Can you give me your impressions of how the suspension of the 30 yr. bond will affect:
1) Equities.
2) The 10 yr. note and, by extension
3) Mortgages

Thanks,
-Darin
