Kirk,
You are correct.

Let me just add these words: ---

In the case of AMAT and many other Tech stocks, Bears who think short term, --- whose timing, when to Sell Short and when to Cover at just the right times --- are the ones that are successful. If Bill F shorts AMAT next month say at 50 with the intention of covering at 15 later --- he better not wait longer to cover or make his investment become long term say for 1 year or more. Maybe AMAT may go down to 15 if the Golden Gate Bridge collapses due to terrorist attacks and as a result Investors quit investing. But that's a long shot.

On the other hand, the AMAT Bull or any other Tech Bull need not be a Good Timer. He can even afford to commit mistakes like buying at the Tops of each Bull Market. He just uses Time as his friend.
