Gopher, even AMD admits that they are below 22% market share. They cite third party sources like Mercury or Dataquest, but these two research firms have incomplete information. AMD and others share the number of units sold, while Intel does not. Therefore, these companies are likely to make a conservative guess. I said that I think that it is actually a lot less than 22%, but this is based off the fact that Intel still claims to have >80% of the market, and I trust Intel's numbers more than third parties. The reason should be obvious. Intel knows their own numbers, and the numbers of their competitors, while the third parties do not.
