WBMW,

<The recall happened immediately afterward. IMO, this was the most reasonable course of action. Do you disagree?>

If that truly was the reasoning behind Intels actions WRT the 1.13GHz issue then I don't disagree but I think that's beside the point. The point to me is it is hypocritical for you to fault AMD for lettting a reviewer get ahold of an unstable board and claim Intel is so much better at advocating the reliability of their platform when Intel has been just as bad about letting reviewers get ahold of unstable, even flawed, components.

<Your tendency to exaggerate does not help your argument, I'm afraid. And neither does the chicken comment.>

First of all I wasn't calling you names particularly not a chicken. I made the presumption that you were familiar with the story of Chicken Little and all I said is you were sounding like him. My only point in all this is you are unfairly making too big a deal out of this whole "instability" issue and in that way I think my chicken little analogy was appropriate. It wasn't meant to be defamatory. It takes time to build a solid and respectable reputation and it takes time to destroy one. This is why AMD still has a bad reputation despite offering world class products and is also why Intel hasn't tarnished their reputation much despite several issues in the recent past. It also takes time to challenge long held beliefs which is the real reason that AMD still has reputation issues. In my opinion it has very little to do with an occasional unfavorable comment in an otherwise stellar review, especially considering how many reviews I have read over the last year or two claiming that the reviewed Athlon systems were rock solid.
