Providian Financial Corp. (PVN) fell for a second day, dropping 73 cents, or 23 percent, to $2.48. The credit-card issuer said after the close of markets Wednesday that it hired advisers to consider selling the company and other options.

doesn't sound like a healthy finanical situation, IMO

if a buyout hopefully the price will more than what you paid for the stock
