Well Hell, It sounds like Intel figured out that the P-4 Xeon wasn't going to cut the mustard.

(Sounds like something the Droids have been saying for a while.)

So now they aren't going to end of life the P-III except for mobile.

Re: Intel to demo 0.13-micron Pentium 4 at Comdex.

Expect to see a 3GHZ P4 demoed at Comdex.

But don't expect to see any for sale (at that speed) for more than a year.

Intel made it pretty clear in the CC that they'd demo a 3GHZ or 3.5GHZ chip soon.

Adam Osbourne would be proud...
