Personally I'd rather go with a 1 GHz model or even a mobile Duron (better battery time).

Andreas, couldn't you just use AMD's power saving scheme to run at a lower mhz when you didn't need maximum power?

Tim

Dear Andreas and Chuck:

If you look for "Athlon 1.1 notebook" in Pricewatch, you would find an entry from Netlux that states "free upgrade to 1.1" in the description.

Pete

Andreas,

<I believe Compaq is the only major OEM that is already shipping 1.1 and 1.2 GHz mobile Athlon 4s:

athome.compaq.com.

(hm, you can only choose a 1.1 GHz A4 but in a recent press release Compaq also announced a 1.2 GHz A4) >

If my memory serves me right, Jerry promised 1.2G for Q3. I guess we can add one more to the list of promises/boasts not kept.

<Personally I'd rather go with a 1 GHz model or even a mobile Duron (better battery time).>

I am leaning towards Durons too (Sony Viao) but got curious when I didn't see A4s greater than 1Ghz. Just wanted to make sure I am looking at the current Christmas models and not the back-to-school models.

Thanks,
Chuck
