Police and fire are Local or State, NOT Fed Civil Service

I'm concerned about our bloated and incompetent central government bureaucracy. State and local government,. being closer to the people it serves, is more accountable, responsive and effective than some clueless army of useless drones 1000 miles away.

The current Civil Service Act (the federal statute) must be repealed and replaced with a law that puts an end to the tenure privilege entirely. Then incompetent workers can be fired and effectively disciplined.

In addition, a great many Fed Gov agencies either serve no purpose or are counter productive and place an unnecessary burden on the private economy. They should be eliminated and their employees trained for work in the private sector. But, by definition, the central government can NEVER shrink as long as the current Civil Service Law perpetuates tenure. It always comes back to tenue. That MUST be eliminated.

Civil Service tenure not only assures the continuation of the long parade of the fiasco and boondoggle eppisodes that punctuate grossly incompetent government.

It also is a the stone guarantee for the continued "creeping socialism" that began when the Fed Civil Service Act was originally passed..
