Tony,

OK, then why does it appear that it's predominantly "forgive and forget". I only saw one AMD backer go ballistic on an Internet thread, on TMF, saying he sold all when that happened. Seems like AMD stockholders take a lot of kicking and keep on ticking.

I don't know about going ballistic, but if you follow this thread, up to half of the posters on this thread by my count (including me) were selling their AMD shares during Q2. It seemed to me that AMD (Jerry, Hector) completely misjudged the effect of P4 price cuts. A lot of the silly remarks happened about the time the price cuts were making their way to the market. Jerry and Hector were caught by surprise, and were too slow to react, which cost AMD a lot in lost sales in Q2.

On a related subject, there was a lot of criticism about not warning about lower Q2 earnings, which (the warning) should have happened at about the time Jerry and Co. were happily selling their AMD shares.

I don't know if there is a great difference in how Intel and AMD shareholders take the misleading statements. You have a lot of sheep on both sides, and some who apply a healthy dose of skepticism to public statements of these companies.
