Combjelly, the CPU market hit bottom in Q2, and has been improving ever since. Like I said, weakness was mostly in the United States, but Japan was weak, too, according to Intel's latest webcast. However, PRC, India, and Latin America are showing unbelievable growth, and are starting to represent a much larger percentage of Intel's total business. In fact, Intel was saying that the United States has shrunk considerably from 2000 to 2001 in terms of the percentage of Intel's business.

Keep in mind that the weak economy was localized mostly to the U.S., and later spread to Europe and Japan. Many other nations, however, were no doubt able to contribute to Intel's bottom line. I think that Intel's business will increase even more next year, once the U.S. and European economies begin to show a return to normal growth. Now, if only the same can be said of the Networking and Communications business.
