After going more than two years without making any money, SGI chief executive Bob Bishop says his troubled computer hardware company has finally hit bottom, and it's in position to climb.

If he's right, a projected increase in the company's defense business could help end a half-decade depression for SGI, a one-time Silicon Valley starlet that suffered crippling market-share losses while Wall Street celebrated the dot-com heyday.

If he's wrong, shareholders can expect yet another failed turnaround, and more of the same for a company that's been the consistent laggard of the computer hardware sector.

That's interesting...IDC's Bozman seems to share the same
sentiment that u & moi have discussed in the past re SGI
& gov contracts...

Tom, one must consider why Don Green consistently posts
departures of former employees...at the same time,
doesn't post any relevant new SGI officer appointments....
