Dear Thread:

Pricewatch has added new categories for Athlon XP 1900+ and Duron 1.1G. There is also a Tyan Thunder with Athlon XP 1900+s. Maybe about two days to benches against Intel's CPUs that are eating AXP's dust.

I think we might have gone around on this one enough, we're just going to disagree.

I have a feeling that there is not much of a disagreement between you and John (and Tench) on the issue of quantispeed. I think the disagreement is between what they believe and what they post. I think their posts are not sincere, it is just FUD. Their tears over quantispeed are of crocodile variety.

Tim,

I must agree that AMD's PR rating naming convention is very misleading to the consumer. It implies that Athon XP processors are as slow as their associated P4 counterparts -- when in actuality, they are much faster. I am ashamed that AMD is misleading the public in this way.
