Most well read people have been aware of this practise and most of the details for at least a few years. Hillary Clinton visited some of those places and publicly spoke against the mutilation. A young woman was granted political asylum a few years ago because of the fate she faced if she went home. Your link provided more graphic details than others I have read. But welcome aboard although I still don't see the association with multi-culturalism.
