Peter, Re: I have a bet running with wanna_bmw that AMD will indeed break-even this quarter.

Yes, I saw the posts -- where you horned in on my bet. ;^)

I can hear it now.
"Peter, You were right and I was wrong.
tgptndr, You were right and I was wrong."

But Albert thinks we're both nuts!

Sales volume is tough. Keep in mind that the CPUs take close to 3 months to produce. Anything for sale this quarter had to start last quarter. Lets hope Jerry was feeling bullish during September -- a tough time to be bullish in the United States.

But for this quarter AMD has a *LOCK* on selling everything they produce at decent ASPs(I'll go so far as to say ASPs may well rise right through the quarter -- an unheard of event.). No Quarter ending channel stuff, no big sales January '02 on Pricewatch.

Re: '...Increase in OEM sales this Q ...' -- I'm of the opinion that's a good part of where your daily 'White Box' KME sales went.

Re: 'The market is probably waiting...' I was out looking. Couldn't find a KT266A MOBO I was interested in -- and I'll definitely have a look at the nForce stuff when it gets here -- if I haven't gone Kt266A first. (Think I'm going to have to go ebay shopping for Win-2K.)(And now a word from the Shuttle people -- Shuttle makes a good MOBO at a right price.)

Thanks for the KME quotes.
