Seems to me that cross burning, in and of itself, should never have been illegal. It's the trespassing, threats, and violation of burn laws that should be at issue. If someone wants to plant a cross in their grill and set it on fire in their own yard, that's free speech. Even if they roll their grill over near the property line of the new black next door neighbors. IMO. All decent people, of course, should shun anyone who would do that.
