The issue of the state of the economy is not something I addressed. But then you already knew that didn't you flapjack?

The downturn in the economy started well over a year ago. I see it primarily as a post internet exuburance shake-up. I don't blame Clinton for it, and I certainly don't blame Bush the way you do. Everyone and his brother thought all you had to do was call yourself a dot-com company and the money would come flowing in. The shake-up was bound to happen. And it's going to be a painful process for many to determine whether they actually had a viable business plan to begin with, or if they were hiring based on the rosiest of forecasts.

The turmoil in the information economy is spilling over into many other sectors now that we've become so interdependent on computers and such. Additionally, the travel industry woes, caused by the terrorist attack, won't make it easy to recover the economy quickly. However, I do believe we will see signs of recovery toward the middle of next year.

Bush was right to insist on a tax break. We needed to inject some capital back into the economy as quickly as possible. Greenspan also seems to be acting more agressive this time.

Only time will tell whether it's agressive enough.

While the nation is united behind our commander in chief in the War on Terrorism, I can assure you that the economy is a different kettle of fish.

You haven't been reading what your fellow travelers have been posting either I see.....
